Volunteers 
 

Every family is required to volunteer 10 hours per season or pay a $210 opt out fee. Descriptions of  volunteer positions for your team and the quantity of volunteer hours that it fulfills are as follows: 

 

Assistant Coaches (10 hours) Football and Cheer

The assistant coaches are critical to the player coach ratio and the quality of the instruction our players receive. Assistant coaches must contribute to the practice on a regular basis.  It should be noted that the total volunteer commitment for Assistant Coaches for Football and Cheer is longer than 10 hours. 

 

Team Parent (10 hours) Football and Cheer

The team parent will coordinate all activities with the coaching staff. This includes communications between coach’s and parents.   It is recommended that there be a Team Parents and an Assistant Team Parent for each team.  There are many responsibilities that can be divided between the two volunteers.  Strong organizational skills are a must for this position and it should be noted that the volunteer commitment for Team Parent and Assistant Team Parent is longer than 10 hours.  There are many responsibilities that fall under the Team Parent. This position will coordinator all parent volunteers for the team/LBPW events and track volunteer hours. Coordination of team uniforms, team photos, fundraising spirit ware ordering, ordering of coaches shirts, communication of game and practice schedules, coordination of end of the season team parties, snack and drink schedule for the games if desired, and overall communication with team player families via email, phone, and in writing throughout the season.

Page 1 Front:  Front Page is the yellow card

Page 1 Back:   Parental/Guardian permission and waiver

 

Page 2 Front:  Parental Agreement and Authorization
Page 2 Back:   Code of Conduct Policy

 

Page 3 Front:  Physical fitness and medical history that the parents fill out
Page 3 Back:   Physical fitness form that the doctor fills out

 

Page 4 Front:  Birth Certificate

Page 4 Back:   Final Report Card

Player Administrator (PA) (10 hours for the entire season or 2 hours per game) Football

This position will be responsible for walking players through the certification process prior to every game. There is training provided for this position at the beginning of the season. Strong organizational skills are a must for this position.  The weekly game day weigh-in prior to game time. Each team’s PA will be joined by the opposing team’s PA for the 20-minute weigh-in and equipment check. There will be a process included with the LBPW scale at each game site. Both teams will be processed at the same time with no parents or coaches present. Equipment will be checked first followed by a pass/fail weigh-in on the scale. Following the pre-game weigh-in, this position will stand on the opposing team’s sideline, away from the parents, coaches and parents. With the assistance of a spotter form the other team, the PA will record and monitor the Mandatory Play Requirements (MPR) for the opposing team. At the end of the half and then end of the 3rd quarter, the PA will have the head coach sign on the MPR form the current status of the team. An administrative time out will be called prior to the beginning of the 4th quarter. All players who have not fully met their MPR will be placed in the game and remain in the game or regular plays until their MPR has been met, no exceptions. It is preferable that this position be filled by one individual for all games, but this position could be shared if schedule problems arise.

 

Spotters (2 hours per game) Football

The Spotter is needed to track mandatory plays for our team with the Player Administrator from the other team. This parent will stand on our sidelines away from

The coaches, players and parents. Once all mandatory plays are met for the team, the spotters are then done for the remainder of the game.

 

Team Trainer (2 hours per game) Football and Cheer

This position is ideal for a certified medical professional, doctor, nurse practitioner or someone who holds a current CPR and first aid card. Ideally this person will be available for all games in the event medical assistance is needed by either team.

 

Field Chain Gang (2 hours per game) Football

Every game will require between one and three individuals to run the down marker and chains at each home game.  These people are reminded that they are not allowed to coach their child or child’s team from this position on the sideline and should consider 

this job as being part of the officiating team.   

 

Field clean up (1 hour per game) Football

Before the beginning of the 4th quarter of the game this person will do a sweep of the sideline picking up any garbage. This will help insure that the fields are kept clean.

 

Little Scholar Coordinator (10 hours for the season) Football and Cheer

Determine academic eligibility of players prior to certification and coordinate submission of paperwork for chapter and national recognition.   Responsibilities include collecting report cards, ensuring Player Administrator has necessary copies for player eligibility and working to facilitate paperwork for recognition of Pop Warner Little Scholars.

 

Videographer (2 hours per game) Football and Cheer

This person will be responsible for videoing all football games or cheer performances. The video can be reviewed by the coaches and players after each game. It is not necessary for the videographer to have a video camera; there is typically a video camera that can be used.

 

Photographer (2 hours per game) Football and Cheer

This person will be responsible for still photographs of all activities including practices and games. The photos can then be compiled in to a year end summary book for all players and may be used for player awards and other memorabilia supplied to each player.
